We have developed our roof penetration for you to optimize the installation of mounting and support structures on flat roofs to accommodate ventilation and air conditioning units or other technical building service equipment. When facing high wind loads, or the equipment and ventilation ducts do not provide adequate counterweight for safety verification, a roof penetration is a good economical alternative. Often, the roof does not offer any load reserves for the necessary ballasting from a static perspective; in such cases, a roof penetration can be an economical solution for secure fastening.
Practical example of an air conditioning system on a flat roof
Roof ducts as a system component of siFramo
The roof ducts are ideal additions to our siFramo system, allowing you to easily design constructions without interfaces to other trades.
There are two versions of the roof duct:
DV-AV enables the direct connection of installations with siFramo using WBD brackets on various roof types. The DV-AH enables the direct connection of support profiles.
To fulfil the high corrosion protection requirements, the roof ducts of the DF-AV and DV-AH types are of course provided with our well proven HCP coating. This corrosion protection is equivalent to hot-dip galvanising.
Fixing to roofs or concrete can be easily realised using heavy-duty M 12 anchors. If required, insulation can also be added to the support tube on site.
Sealing to the roof cladding is carried out on site and easy to install thanks to the round design.

Sikla provides support with the corresponding static verification.
This makes it easy to realise constructions without trade interfaces from a single source. On request, we will be happy to support you with the necessary structural analysis as it is often necessary to provide statical proof for the structures in question, considering the load combinations involved. To this end a 3D structural analysis is conducted by a 3D framework programme such as for example RSTAB.
Sikla provides you with documentation on the load assumptions, verification of the ultimate and serviceability limit state, a verification of the connections and, if required, an anchor verification and bearing loads for on-site testing of the load introduction into the structure. We see ourselves as your competent partner in the realization of integrated fastening systems.

The advantages of Sikla roof penetration for use on flat roofs:
- Single point of sourcing
- Minimisation of trade Interfaces
- Quick and easy Installation
- HCP corrosion protection
